You are asking yourself if that subject line really says what you think it says. Your eyes returning it time and again to make sure that is really what you are reading. It is, that is what we are going to talk about today, Snot.
This Snot falls under the category of "things no one tells you about that happens during pregnancy." Luckily I have a family that loves to share everything and I wasn't surprised at most of the things that have happened during the last several months. The Snot took me by surprise.
There are all sorts of documented biological reasons this happens:
"You may experience occasional nosebleeds and nasal stuffiness due to the increases in blood volume and the effects of the hormone estrogen, which causes your nasal membranes to swell."
-A. Christine Harris Ph.D The Pregnancy Journal
Even knowing this, there are still massive amounts of Snot in my head and nasal membranes (I like that word, membrane, the more I say and write membrane the more I like it, hmmmmmmm...). After all these months I am still amazed and astounded...
...excuse me I had to get some of that Snot out of my head. Oh yes, I am still amazed and astounded by the quantity of Snot one person can possess.
A typical day
-Wake up...Blow my nose
-Brush my teeth...Blow my nose
-Get out of the shower...Blow my nose
-Put my contacts in...Blow my nose
-Get dressed...Blow my nose
Okay, so you probably get the point, and that is just part of the first hour of my day. I breathe...therefore I must blow my nose.
I am completely full of Snot. I wonder if that is similar to being full of poo (I am practicing not using my curse words)? Does this mean with the Snot I have undoubtedly swallowed (say it with me...ewwwwwwwww) that Glo-Worm is going be a Snot? Has my mucus turned my kiddo into a little Snot? These are just a few of the questions I ponder about the Snot coursing through my body.
Sorry, got a little off track...hopefully the swollen membrane (hee hee there is that word again) thingy ends soon after Glo-Worm makes an appearance.
Speaking of Glo-Worm...not much longer now. Mere weeks and our little bambino will be here. Any guesses when I will have our baby? There is already one prediction that Glo-Worm will be here 7 days before my due date (12-24-08)...any other predictions?

Hmmmm... I didn't have this SNOT problem. I had the nosebleeds something fierce, but no snot. I did get ingrown toenails ALL THE TIME when I was pregnant- never when I'm not. In fact, it's one of the reasons I knew I was pregnant with K.
My predection: December 18th. Is there a cash prize?
hmmmm.... I can't say that I had the snot problem either??? However, I am quite full of snot right now, does that mean I'm pregnant now?? lol (Don't worry, I'm not!)
My prediction? hmmmm... let's see... Dec 31st sounds good to me.
"the best friend"
..we are not naming our kid membrane...!
;)
Since The Blog Nazi is going to be the favorite Aunt, she will allow Glow Worm to share the day before or the day after her birthday. You can thank her later.
She also reports that she had stuffiness, but not mass quantites of snot.
